Our Mission:

The Republican Party of Charleston County clear and focused mission is:

• To recruit, support, and elect conservative leaders of integrity and competence to positions of public office.

• To articulate and demonstrate through our words, actions, and policy positions a persuasive understanding of conservative political philosophy founded upon the “unalienable rights” of all men and the proper boundaries of a limited government whose powers are derived only “from the consent of the governed”.

• To invite, welcome, train, use, and enjoy a volunteer team of patriotic citizens whose membership in the Party provides the foundation for both conservative leadership and Republican victories across Charleston County and South Carolina.

 Our Position:

The Charleston County Republican Party is, without question, the dominant political party in our County.  In terms of County representation, Republicans currently hold:

• A 64% GOP Majority in the State House

• A 77% GOP Majority in the State Senate

• A 71% GOP Majority in Countywide Elected Officials (Court House and Council)

Charleston Republicans have also contributed significantly to Statewide  Conservative Leadership.  We are proud that Governor Mark Sanford, Senate President pro tem Glenn McConnell and House Speaker Bobby Harrell all call Charleston home.
